A new agreement between Radio Africa Group and USIU-Africa aims to give media students more experience outside the classroom. Signed in January 2026, it sets out plans for placements and mentoring across radio, print and digital teams.
The partnership also covers joint research and production, with digital storytelling and new newsroom tools among the areas to explore. For students, the proposed newsroom rotations would bring exposure to deadlines, editorial decisions and the practical work of producing stories for real audiences.
