Celebrating the people who mother us

There was cake, conversation and a little laughter as Radio Africa colleagues marked Mother’s Day. The gathering recognised mothers and mother figures across the organisation.

HR manager Jemima Ngode also made room for the more difficult feelings the day can bring: grief, loss and the longing to become a parent. Her remarks acknowledged that colleagues arrive at the same occasion with very different experiences. Staff then shared cake and spent time together away from their usual routines.
